Botox® has become one of the most requested treatments for anyone who wants to look rested without looking "done." Administered by a medical provider, it relaxes the specific muscles that create expression lines, softening their appearance while keeping your face yours.
Why the dosing matters
Dosing is matched to your anatomy. Men generally carry more muscle mass in the forehead and glabella, thicker skin, and a brow that sits lower and flatter; women's dosing accounts for a different brow position and muscle pattern. Treating one with the other's pattern is what produces that arched, surprised look everyone is trying to avoid.
We dose to the face in front of us: more units where the muscles are stronger, placed to preserve brow position rather than lift it.
What it treats
- Forehead lines: the horizontal lines that deepen with expression
- Frown lines (the "11s"): the vertical lines between the brows that read as anger or fatigue
- Crow's feet: the lines fanning out from the corners of the eyes
- Bunny lines on the nose and, in some cases, jaw slimming or a gummy smile
What to expect
The appointment takes about 15 minutes. A very fine needle is used and most patients describe it as a series of quick pinches. There's no downtime. You can go straight back to work.
Results begin appearing at 3 to 5 days and reach full effect around two weeks. They typically last three to four months, with many patients finding the interval lengthens after several consistent treatments.
Side effects
Mild and short-lived: small red bumps at the injection sites for an hour or two, occasional bruising, and rarely a mild headache. Brow or eyelid droop is uncommon and temporary when it does happen, and far less likely with a provider who doses for male anatomy.
Every treatment starts with a conversation about your goals, in a private, comfortable setting. Contact us to find out whether Botox® is right for you.
