The most common thing we hear after a car accident is "I felt fine at the scene." That's normal. Adrenaline masks soft-tissue injury for hours or days, which is exactly why so many people don't seek care until the stiffness sets in, and by then it's harder to treat and harder to document.
Why prompt evaluation matters
- Clinically: soft-tissue injuries treated early heal with better mechanics and less scar tissue. Untreated whiplash frequently becomes a chronic neck problem years later.
- For your claim: a documented gap between the accident and your first medical visit is one of the most common reasons injury claims get devalued. Early documentation protects you.
Injuries we commonly treat
- Whiplash-associated disorder: neck pain, stiffness, headache, dizziness and jaw pain following rapid acceleration-deceleration
- Cervical and lumbar sprain/strain
- Disc injury: bulges and herniations caused or aggravated by the collision
- Shoulder and seatbelt injuries
- Knee and dashboard injuries
- Post-traumatic headache
- Delayed-onset low back pain
What happens at your visit
Evaluation. A full history of the mechanism of injury (direction of impact, head position, headrest position, whether you saw it coming) plus a neurological and orthopedic examination. Imaging is ordered where it's indicated.
Documentation. We record objective findings, functional limitations and a treatment plan. This is the record your attorney or insurer will rely on.
Treatment. Manual therapy, rehabilitation, spinal decompression where disc involvement is confirmed, and pain management interventions where they're needed to let rehabilitation proceed.
Re-evaluation. Objective progress measures at intervals, so improvement (or lack of it) is documented rather than assumed.
Working with attorneys
We're used to coordinating with personal injury attorneys and providing the records, narrative reports and documentation a case requires. If you're already represented, bring your attorney's information to your first visit.
If you've been in an accident recently, don't wait for it to settle down on its own. Call us.
